Young Chasers

A wild weekend for the youngest in charge playing up in the 2nd grade division. 1 thing we learn fast is Coach Murrill and his crew wasn't going to back down from nobody. They went 2-0 in pool play beating a good Team Power team at the buzzer with a very clutch shot by Kevin Savage III who played 2 games with them because of a short roster due to vacationing for memorial weekend.

DCA 2027 made it to the championship to play a very good Team United team who are currently ranked #1 in the state of North Carolina. From the tip off the 1st grade crew seemed out matched but the young chasers wasn't ready to lay down, with real scrappy play they kept the game tight. Omari Chaudhry was a good floor general against an aggressive press making big jump shots and Langston Jones was driving to the bucket every opportunity he had scoring 8 points. Tyler Barnes was eating with his patent pump fake rip threw on the left side of the court scoring 6 points. Young Chase and Shamar Madden was doing the dirty work grabbing some big rebounds and making some crucial tie ups. In the end Team United was just a little to much for the young chasers even with some help from Kevin. The final score was 36-27 not bad for a 1st grade team playing up short handed. The future is bright for these young chasers Coach Murrill has a special bunch on his hands.
