The game of basketball is slowly changing, its going away from the traditional big man with his back to the basket. Basketball is evolving into big men bringing the ball up the court making decisions in the open court.  Xavier Butler fits the mold of the new age big man his skill set is bar none. A big man that can finish with both hands don't mind putting it on the floor also a tenacious rebounder.

Xavier Butler joined DCA in the 2nd grade a young unorthodox big man very raw looking like every other big kid who's feet hasn't caught up to his body. Early in the season he looked like he was going to be a project not really ready to get out there and contribute. We was all sadly mistaken Xavier aka Big Zay got in the gym and put countless hours with his dad and trainer, worked his way into to easily being 1 of the top big men in his class. 1 game Big Zay scored 22 out of his team 28 points basically taken over the game single handily. Another game versus the soon to be national champions he was hands down the player of the game until he fouled out in the 4th qtr. The game slip at the last couple of minutes from DCA.

Big Zay has a great pedigree dad stands 6'7 and his mom has good size also. It's safe to say Zay may tap out at around 6'10 ish and with him developing as well as as he been doing, we may be looking at the next Windell Carter coming out of the state of ga. Keep your eyes open for Big Zay and his 2027 crew they are must see tv.
