2018 season kicked off on a really positive note. Midday Madness was a full house with uncles, grandma's and siblings running all over the place. DJ playing all the latest music keeping everyone moving. It was good to see everybody back in the gym together having a good time.
The day started off with player introductions. As the kids names was announced they came running threw the smokey entrance with their nicknames being shouted from the crowd and their hobbies being told. Some kids was shy coming out the entrance, some had their own little dance. The new kids in the program was welcomed with open arms and also they was very happy to wear their DCA jersey that was handed out. Player introductions was definitely a moment the kids will never forget.
Next on the agenda was the All Star game. Each game went by class and boy did the players put on a show. Class of 2026 stole the show with a extremely competitive game. The boys went at each other like it was a real game crossing each other over shooting in each other face it was a very good game, fans definitely got their moneys worth.
The kids took a small break as they got in line with their families to get their food and drinks. Like I said small because right after their last sip of gatorade they was up ready for more. The jelly contest and 3 point shootout was right around the corner and the kids was not going to miss out on who was selected to participate. Robert Scott Jr was the winner of the 3 point contest beating Langston Jones in the finals. Kevin Savage was the winner of the jelly contest edging out a close win against Craig Dandridge. All participants showed great sportsmanship rooting for whoever was participating.
DCA Mid-Madness was the perfect way to get the positive energy flowing for such a long grueling season. The kids had a blast the parents had a good time and that was the goal. So its safe to say the 2018 season will be 1 to remember.
